“Aaji Care Inaugurates Goa’s First Assisted Living Center, Launches ‘Ageing Gracefully’ Magazine”

Goa’s 1st assisted living center by Aaji Care was inaugurated by Rohan Khaunte, Minister for IT, Revenue, Labour & Employment, Government of Goa, on Sunday, 16 December, in a grand function at Old Goa in the presence of Sarpanch Medha Parvatkar and UpSarpanch Ambar Amonkar. Aaji Care is a leading elder care service provider based out of Mumbai, and it is their fifth assisted living center.

This center is located in Ella Village, Old Goa, near HealthWay Hospital. The new center in Goa, according to Prasad Bhide, CEO and Founder of Aaji Care, offers both long-term and short-term care for elders with conditions including Alzheimer & Dementia, Parkinson’s, cancer, paralysis, post-operative care, or any psychiatric problem. Some of the center’s main attractions include 24-hour nursing care, regular physiotherapy sessions, yoga sessions, specialized and healthy meals, and a cozy environment. They have designed & dedicated a separate floor in the center to elders suffering with Alzheimer & dementia. They also have a swimming pool, a big garden, a clubhouse, and access to a large multi-specialty hospital in 2 min.

Aaji Care has been operating in Mumbai & Pune for more than a decade and currently manages four centers there. It additionally offers patient care services at home and dementia care sessions at home for elders in Mumbai who are experiencing loneliness and psychological problems. These services will shortly begin in Pune as well.

As a part of this occasion, Aaji Care introduced their first magazine called “Ageing Gracefully,” dedicated to elders and their families, which will be distributed across Goa, Mumbai, & Pune.

Aaji Care felicitated 6 prominent senior citizens who are right examples of active aging, and each one is contributing to the community in different ways. The felicities included Dr. Ajit Shirodkar, Mrs. Seema Shirodkar, Mr. Nascimento D’Souza, retired Commander Mr. Arun Patil, Mrs. Lakshmi Unny, and Dr. Vijay Lulla. 

This program also involved a skit on dementia awareness by Dr. Saish Deshpande’s Abhivyakati group, which was an eye opener for many people who attended this program.
