GEAR UP FOR THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT OF INDIA DESIGN ID IN MUMBAI 

India Design ID, the country’s most definitive design week, is all set to debut in Mumbai after 12 successful editions in New Delhi. Known for showcasing the best from the world of design and decor, interior solutions, bespoke furniture, lighting, furnishings, decor, and collectibles, this inaugural Mumbai edition promises to open new dimensions for both design enthusiasts and professionals.

India Design ID Mumbai 2024 will be focused on product design and innovation, and promises to bring together top talents from the world of design, art, and decor from India and around the world, creating a dynamic three-day event that celebrates the world of design and creativity. To be held at the Jio World Garden in BKC, the event will feature over 100 luxury Indian and international brands, encompassing a melange of design and aesthetic innovations, and a wide range of interior offerings such as furniture, lighting, soft furnishing, decor, accessories, and more. Special product editions highlighting indigenous craftsmanship amalgamated with cutting-edge designs reflect the evolving global design landscape, and will also play a significant part in the show. 

This 3-day fair will feature a remarkable lineup of exhibitors showcasing their innovative designs and craftsmanship. Renowned brands such as BoConcept, Jaipur Rugs, and Vitra will present their latest collections, blending contemporary and traditional aesthetics. Brands like Sansaar – a D’decor brand and Greenlam will highlight sustainable materials, while brands like Ikai Asai, KoKo by K2India and Ligne Roset bring a unique fusion of art and design to the forefront. Other notable exhibitors include Lladro, Natuzzi, and Nivasa, each known for their luxurious furnishings. With contributions from creative studios like Innovative Design Studio and The Pure Concept, along with the artistic touch of Sarita Handa and Sources Unlimited, the event promises a diverse and inspiring display of design excellence. Vita Moderna and Wriver will further enrich the experience, showcasing the dynamic landscape of India’s design industry.

At ID Symposium, a stellar lineup of design icons will share their insights and experiences through cutting-edge panel discussions and inspiring dialogues. The speakers this time include Marcus Prize-winning Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, Ashiesh Shah, the Indian designer known for blending Indian crafts with contemporary design, and Vinita Chaitanya, a renowned interior designer. Other notable speakers include Lily Froehlicher, Managing Director of The Invisible Collection, and Tarini Jindal, founder of æquō, India’s first collectible design gallery. With insights from industry leaders like Pavitra Rajaram, Alfaz Miller, Shama Pawar and Gunjan Gupta, the event promises to explore cutting-edge design, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

The ID Special Project will feature APHORISM—Threads that Imagine Tapestry, an exhibition by Advanced Nature curated by Jesh Krishnamurthy. This comprises 17 nature-inspired product displays inspired by elements of the Earth and waste materials, and crafted through sustainable processes. The Gourmet Experiences segment will also offer a curated list of top restaurants like Mag St. Cafe, Araku, and La Loca Maria and city favourite bars like PCO, Slink & Bardot, and La Panthera, blending design with culinary experiences. This celebrates the intersection of Mumbai’s culture and design circuit. 

The event comprises the following segments:

  • ID Exhibit: 100+ of the best of Indian and international luxury brands will present their latest collections of furniture, home decor, lighting, accessories and interiors.
  • Editions: Luxury product showcases and special editions by home design brands
  • Design: This pavilion will host the Indian Crafts Story, presented through innovative product design and design ateliers/makers. The New Guard segment highlights five cutting-edge design studios that are bringing a fresh perspective to the design landscape in India
  • ID Collectible: Contemporary collectible designs and high-quality, unique objects at the intersection of design, decor, and art
  • Installations: Six designers/artists will display their artistic installations, exploring different forms and materials 
  • ID Symposium: ID’s platform for thought-provoking discussions led by influential names in design and architecture. These conversations cover topics like sustainability, design innovation, contemporary projects, and more.
  • ID Special Project: At the Mumbai edition, the ID Special Project will feature pieces centred around sustainability and natural materials, encouraging a dialogue between conscious living and product design.

Combining curated showcases, engaging discussions, and unique collectible designs, India Design ID Mumbai 2024 promises to be an unmissable event for design enthusiasts, collectors, and industry professionals.
