NITCON Limited, a Union Government Company established in 1984, has expanded its presence in Eastern India with the opening of its new office in Siliguri, West Bengal. This expansion with its Ninth Office in the country marks another milestone in the organisation’s growing national footprint and reinforces its commitment to supporting infrastructure, governance and development initiatives across emerging regions of the country.
NITCON’s association with West Bengal spans consultancy, infrastructure, renewable energy, digital governance and skill development. Assignments executed or presently under execution in the State today carry a combined project value of over ₹4,300 crore. NITCON has established an office in Siliguri to strengthen its regional operations and address the growing development needs of North Bengal. The office will also oversee the day-to-day execution of a landmark assignment entrusted to NITCON as Project implementation Unit (PIU) by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India for the development of a state-of-the-art residential township in Siliguri. In addition to strengthening project execution, the new office is expected to create local employment opportunities and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
Siliguri’s location as the gateway to Sikkim and the North-East extends the relevance of the new office well beyond West Bengal. NITCON already executes assignments worth over ₹325 crore across five North-Eastern States — Sikkim, Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya — a footprint the Siliguri office is positioned to support and grow.
With offices in multiple cities across India, NITCON continues to strengthen its regional presence while bringing a host of services—including project consultancy, infrastructure development, digital governance and integrated project management—closer to government institutions and stakeholders.
From project consultancy and techno-economic studies to project management, civil construction, digital governance, IT services and systems integration, NITCON has steadily evolved into a multidisciplinary organisation capable of supporting projects from concept to completion. This integrated approach allows governments, public-sector organisations and institutions to engage a single, trusted partner throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Over the past three years, NITCON has successfully managed projects valued at more than ₹22,700 crore, demonstrating the confidence placed in the organisation by government departments, financial institutions and public-sector enterprises across the country.
As a Union Government Company, NITCON’s operations are supported by robust governance standards and strong institutional credibility. The organisation undergoes annual audits by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India and has attained notable recognitions, including CIBIL Rank 1 and CMMI Level 3, along with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certifications.
NITCON also collaborates with several prominent institutions and organisations, including government ministries, public-sector banks and national agencies. Its partnerships extend to organisations such as the World Bank, EXIM Bank, NICSI, RITES, SIDBI, NSDC and DMRC, demonstrating its experience in delivering projects that require technical excellence, transparency and timely execution.
The opening of the Siliguri office marks a significant milestone in NITCON’s long-term commitment to North Bengal and the North Eastern region, driven by its strong confidence in the region’s growing development potential. NITCON delivers multidisciplinary solutions across Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Urban Development, Healthcare, Transportation, Industrial Development, Education, Digital Governance, Skill Development, Land Monetisation, IT Services, Energy Conservation, Social Sector Programmes, Recruitment Services and Public Infrastructure Projects — a capability set reflected directly in the range of the West Bengal and North-East portfolios above.
Through its Siliguri office, NITCON aims to be that trusted partner for North Bengal—combining government credibility, technical expertise and integrated execution capabilities to help drive the region’s next phase of growth.
