Bengaluru, October 1, 2026: Indian consumer electronics brand boAt is stepping into its next phase of growth by expanding beyond its core audio business and increasing its focus on emerging consumer technology categories and international markets. The company is strengthening its presence across categories including projectors, personal grooming, charging solutions, gaming, and entertainment and lifestyle technology.
The company is positioning this next phase as ‘boAt 2.0’, with audio continuing to remain at the heart of its business while new categories and international markets are being developed as additional growth engines.
Commenting on the company’s growth strategy, Gaurav Nair, CEO, boAt, said, “Our focus is now shifting from turnaround to growth. With a stronger balance sheet, operational discipline and a resilient core business, we are preparing for boAt 2.0. We will continue to strengthen our leadership in audio while building new growth opportunities across international markets and consumer technology categories such as projectors, grooming and charging solutions. Our ambition is to build boAt into a large and enduring technology company from India.”
Strengthening financial fundamentals
The expansion comes as boAt has strengthened its financial position and profitability. In FY2026, the company’s profit after tax increased by 38% to ₹84.5 crore. The company has also become free of bank debt and reported a cash reserve of approximately ₹397 crore.
According to the company, FY2026 was focused on strengthening the fundamentals of the business while navigating external market challenges.
New categories contribute to growth
boAt’s newer business segments are also beginning to contribute more significantly to its performance. Segment profit from charging solutions, cables, gaming and other businesses increased from around ₹14 crore to ₹46 crore in FY2026.
The wearables business also recorded a turnaround during the year. After reporting a segment loss of approximately ₹54 crore in the previous year, the business posted a segment profit of around ₹7 crore in FY2026.
The company said its audio business continues to strengthen its leadership position, while wearables has moved into profitability. At the same time, newer categories are creating additional opportunities for revenue growth and profitability.
Expanding beyond India
International expansion is another key element of boAt’s growth strategy. The company’s international revenue increased from approximately ₹20 crore to ₹45 crore in FY2026.
While international markets currently account for a relatively small share of the company’s overall business, boAt sees significant opportunities to build its presence outside India.
The company plans to leverage the brand equity, distribution capabilities and consumer insights it has built in the audio segment and apply these strengths across newer technology categories and international markets.
With its core business continuing to provide a strong foundation, boAt is now focused on building a broader consumer technology portfolio and creating new avenues for long-term growth under its ‘boAt 2.0’ strategy.
