Sampreet Chakraborty represents a new generation of entrepreneurs who believe that success is not simply about building a business—it is about creating meaningful value for people, communities, and society.
An entrepreneur, healthcare professional, technology enthusiast, and business-community leader from Malda, West Bengal, Sampreet has built his journey around three powerful ideas: innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development.
From Jadavpur University, Kolkata to the University of Leeds, UK
Sampreet’s professional journey is rooted in a strong academic foundation. He began his higher education through engineering college at Jadavpur University, where he pursued a Bachelor in Printing Engineering with Honours. His formative years were also shaped by his association with Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyamandir, Malda, which contributed to his values of discipline, learning and social responsibility.
Driven by a desire to understand international business and global markets, Sampreet later pursued an Master of Science in International Business at the University of Leeds, UK, graduating with Merit. His international academic experience broadened his perspective on entrepreneurship, business strategy, technology and global commerce.
Rather than limiting his ambitions to international opportunities, Sampreet chose to bring his knowledge and experience back to his home region and contribute to the growth of businesses and communities in Malda.
Building Businesses with a Purpose
Sampreet is the Founder & CEO of Tumbledry DryClean & Laundry Service – Malda, M/S Shreyam Healthcare Centre, operating through his entrepreneurial venture, Shreyam Laundromat.
His objective has been to introduce a more organised, technology-enabled and customer-focused approach to garment care. By combining modern laundry and dry-cleaning solutions with professional customer service, the business aims to provide convenient and premium garment-care services to customers in Malda.
For Sampreet, entrepreneurship is about identifying everyday challenges and developing practical solutions. His journey in the service sector reflects his belief that businesses in smaller cities can adopt professional standards, technology and modern management practices while creating employment and economic opportunities locally.
Making Healthcare More Accessible
His entrepreneurial journey extends beyond the service industry.
Sampreet also owns and manages Shreyam Healthcare Centre – Dr. Lal PathLabs Collection Centre, Makdumpur, working to provide access to trusted diagnostic services within the community.
Healthcare accessibility is an important part of his professional vision. Through the healthcare centre and community-oriented initiatives, he aims to contribute to a system where people can access reliable diagnostic services closer to home.
This combination of entrepreneurship and social responsibility reflects a broader philosophy: a successful business should create value not only for its customers, but also for the community it serves.
Technology and the Digital Transformation of Business
Sampreet is particularly passionate about technology and digital transformation.
He believes that digital tools can play a transformative role in helping small businesses, traders and entrepreneurs compete in an increasingly connected economy.
This vision has also shaped his role as In-Charge of the IT Cell, Malda Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MMCCI).
In this capacity, he contributes to strengthening digital communication, supporting promotional initiatives, improving the visibility of businesses and helping the chamber engage with modern technology and digital platforms.
His work with MMCCI reflects his belief that technology should not remain limited to large corporations. MSMEs, traders and local entrepreneurs can also use digital transformation to expand their reach, strengthen their brands and connect with national and international markets.
Working for Malda’s Economic Growth
One of the defining aspects of Sampreet’s journey is his involvement in initiatives aimed at strengthening Malda’s economic ecosystem.
Through his association with MMCCI and its leadership, he has participated in initiatives focused on trade promotion, MSME development, agriculture and horticulture, tourism, local products and business networking.
He has been involved in efforts to promote the identity of “Aamar Malda” in Malda and West Bengal, Under the leadership of District Administration and Government of West Bengal, he is regularly highlighting the district’s distinctive products and economic potential in Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Malda is widely recognised for its mangoes and has a rich heritage of silk, agriculture, horticulture and traditional commerce. Sampreet believes these strengths can be transformed into stronger brands and larger market opportunities through professional marketing, technology, modern supply chains and collaboration.
Taking “Local to Global”
A major theme in Sampreet’s professional vision is “Local to Global.”
He believes that products originating in districts such as Malda should not remain confined to local markets. With appropriate branding, quality standards, packaging, logistics, digital marketing and institutional support, local products can reach consumers across India and international markets.
His participation in trade and business events, including the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, reflects this vision.
As the IT Cell-Incharge of the Malda Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MMCC&I) delegation led by President Shri Ujjal Saha, Sampreet participated in business networking and initiatives aimed at showcasing Malda and West Bengal’s commercial potential.
The participation also provided an opportunity to promote Malda’s products and connect local business interests with broader national platforms.
Supporting Agriculture, Horticulture and GI Products
Sampreet has also been associated with discussions surrounding the development and promotion of Malda and North Bengal’s agricultural and horticultural economy.
Recent initiatives have included discussions concerning mango, litchi, potato and other agricultural and GI products, with emphasis on collaboration between local business organisations, ICAR-CISH/KVK, government agriculture and horticulture departments and other institutions.
Areas such as post-harvest management, marketing, value addition, branding, domestic market expansion and export opportunities are increasingly important to the future of Malda and West Bengal’s agricultural economy.
For Sampreet, entrepreneurship and agriculture are not separate worlds. They can come together through technology, investment, market access and innovative business models.
A Voice for the Business Community
His work with MMCC&I has given him an opportunity to engage with Gen Z entrepreneurs, traders, professionals, industrialists, government representatives and industry stakeholders.
He believes that chambers of commerce can play an important role in creating dialogue between businesses and institutions, identifying challenges faced by entrepreneurs and promoting policies and initiatives that support economic growth in India.
Through digital communication and technology-focused initiatives, Sampreet seeks to help modernise the way business communities communicate, collaborate and present themselves to the wider world.
Leadership Through Collaboration
Sampreet’s approach to leadership is centred on collaboration rather than working in isolation.
His professional activities have brought him into interaction with business leaders, entrepreneurs, government officials, agricultural institutions, healthcare professionals and industry representatives in various parts of the India.
He believes that sustainable development requires partnerships between business, government, technology, academia and communities.
This collaborative approach is particularly important for emerging economic centres such as Malda, where local entrepreneurship can become a powerful driver of employment and regional development in Sonar Bangla.
Entrepreneur, Healthcare Professional and Technology Enthusiast
