Her Highness Radhika Raje Gaekwad and Rajkumari Anjana Raje Gaekwad graced National Award-winning vocalist Rahul Deshpande’s celebrated Abhangawari concert in Vadodara, which witnessed a full house and an overwhelming response from music lovers.
“I’ve watched his videos on YouTube for years, but I feel so fortunate to finally watch Rahul Deshpande perform live on stage. Such culturally enriching programmes should be organised regularly,” said Her Highness Maharani Radhika Raje Gaekwad.
The devotional evening was also attended by Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu, among many other distinguished guests and prominent personalities from the city.
Rahul Deshpande brought alive the spiritual energy and timeless traditions of the Pandharpur Wari through powerful abhangs, soulful compositions and stirring chants of “Ram Krishna Hari.” His evocative performance transformed the packed auditorium into a space filled with devotion, emotion and collective celebration.
The audience sang along, applauded enthusiastically and remained immersed in the musical experience throughout the evening. Rahul’s ability to blend classical depth with the simplicity and emotional power of devotional music made the concert deeply engaging for listeners across generations.
The full-house Vadodara performance marked another memorable chapter in the continuing journey of Abhangawari, which has been carrying the rich legacy of Maharashtra’s saints, poetry and devotional music to audiences across India.
