Mysuru, September 02, 2026: KBE (Krishna Buildestates Pvt. Ltd.), a Delhi-based EPC leader with a legacy dating back to 1949, and Vigyanlabs Innovations Pvt. Ltd., an Indian deep-tech company building indigenous sovereign AI infrastructure, will officially launch FEMTO — India’s breakthrough sovereign AI platform — on September 5, 2026, at JSS College of Pharmacy in Mysuru. The launch is delivered through Kasvin, a joint venture formed via KBE’s subsidiary, KAS (Krishnaa Advance Systems), and Vigyanlabs. Dr S. Somanath, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), will attend as Chief Guest and formally launch the platform.
The deployment of FEMTO is backed by a planned ₹100 crore investment over the coming year. The launch event will feature interactive panel discussions on sovereign AI infrastructure and the official reveal of FEMTO’s mascot, Airawatt.
Strategic Partnership and Market Access
The launch follows a strategic partnership between KAS and Vigyanlabs to accelerate the deployment of sovereign AI and high-performance computing infrastructure across India. The collaboration pairs Vigyanlabs’ proprietary FEMTO technology with KAS’ expertise in infrastructure execution, data centre deployment, and market access.
As part of the agreement, KAS holds a Right of First Refusal (ROFR) for the commercialisation, deployment, and scaling of FEMTO-based solutions across identified sectors, positioning it as the preferred partner for expanding the technology across government, defence, enterprise AI, edge computing, and data centre applications.
AI Infrastructure in a Box
Opposed to a conventional server, FEMTO is a fully integrated, modular platform that combines computing, storage, networking, virtualisation, and orchestration into a single air-gapped unit. Available in four variants, FEMTO runs on Virtune, a proprietary, indigenously owned orchestration and virtualisation hypervisor, and IPM+, a patented intelligent power-management platform already deployed across more than 6 lakh PCs and desktops globally, which uses AI to map user behaviour and cut power use by 30%.
A single FEMTO-4 appliance supports AI models with more than 400 billion parameters, and delivers 8 GPUs with 768GB of GPU VRAM at under 5.5kW — a density that is virtually unmatched globally. The platform’s 100% air-cooled architecture operates at a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) under 1.3, well below the industry-typical range of 1.8–2.0, with zero water dependency, cutting power consumption by 50%, data centre capital expenditure by 30%, and total operating costs to roughly one-third of traditional facilities.
Engineering and Leadership
FEMTO is engineered by Srinivas Varadarajan, formerly with HP and Dell, and Principal Architect of India’s Aadhaar data centre, who has built sustainable data centres globally. Vigyanlabs brings over 18 years of deep-tech innovation to the platform, holding 9 US patents and a track record of more than 2,000 GWh in proven energy savings delivered across prior deployments. The venture is scaled under the execution leadership of Rahul Bahl, Managing Director of KAS, a third-generation business leader with a track record of scaling ventures from the ground up. Their combined expertise anchors FEMTO’s design: a fully indigenous, secure computing architecture built to let organisations process and retain critical data within sovereign boundaries.
“This partnership combines KAS’s EPC execution with Vigyanlabs’ deep-tech IP to deliver secure, end-to-end sovereign digital infrastructure.”
Srinivas Varadarajan, CEO, Vigyanlabs
“Through 100% Make in India innovation, we are providing the scalable, energy-efficient AI capabilities required for the nation’s surging data infrastructure demands.”
Rahul Bahl, Managing Director, KBE & KAS
