Filmmaker and producer Vidhi Kasliwal has released the teaser of the award-winning short documentary Bhishma Pitamah of the Textile Industry, based on the extraordinary life and legacy of respected Indian textile industrialist and visionary Shri Shambhu Kumar Kasliwal.
The documentary recently won the Best Short Documentary Film award at Germany’s HOHE International Film Festival. This international recognition honours its compelling storytelling and sensitive portrayal of an inspiring Indian legacy.
Produced by Vidhi Kasliwal, directed by Yash Gaikwad, written and creatively directed by Gautam Pemmaraju, and presented by Landmarc Films, the documentary traces the remarkable journey of a man whose vision and tireless work helped establish S. Kumars as one of India’s most respected textile brands.
The teaser offers a glimpse into an inspiring story woven with determination, entrepreneurship, struggle, courage and deeply held human values. It explores the life and principles that shaped his journey from a young textile trader to one of the most respected figures in India’s textile industry.
Together with his elder brother, Shri Shambhu Kumar Kasliwal made S. Kumars a household name. He introduced affordable, durable polyester-blended fabrics in India, making quality clothing accessible to middle- and lower-income families. His guiding principle was simple yet powerful: deliver the best possible quality at the lowest possible price.
For Vidhi Kasliwal, the documentary is also a personal tribute to her grandfather and the lessons his life continues to offer.
